摘要: Context South Africa has the most HIV infections of any country in world, yet little is known about adolescent continuum care from diagnosis through viral suppression. Objective To determine Africa. Data sources We searched PubMed, Google Scholar and online conference proceedings International AIDS Society (IAS), Conference (AIDS) on Retrovirology Opportunistic Infections (CROI) 1 January 2005 to 31 July 2015. extraction selected published literature containing African cohorts epidemiological data reporting primary for youth (15–24 years age) at stage (ie, diagnosis, treatment, retention, suppression). For meta-analysis we used six retention nine Results Among estimated 867 283 HIV-infected 15 24 years old 2013, 14% accessed antiretroviral therapy (ART). Of those therapy, ∼83% were retained 81% virally suppressed. Overall, estimate that 10% 2013 Limitations This analysis relies large mostly urban limiting generalisability all adolescents. Conclusions Despite a increase ART programmes have relatively high rates suppression among youth, only small percentage are suppressed, largely due low numbers adolescents young adults accessing ART.
