摘要: Abstract Co-firing of coal and biomass appears as a promising technology to improve CO 2 emission levels. Even though it has been extensively studied, there is need widening the range fuels that could be applied process. With this aim, two energy crops (cynara poplar) were tested with in 500 kW th co-firing pilot plant compared from an viewpoint. Energy co-fired bituminous at different shares (0–15%) basis, flue gas concentration (CO, , SO O NO x ) was measured stack. Combustion efficiency evaluated by means concentration, showing good performance all cases proving feasibility process low emissions. Small differences particle size distribution are probably main cause trends cynara share increased. levels decreased for both cases, although, expected, reduction more pronounced poplar than cynara. emissions higher experiments mainly due volatile matter content air differences. This work also includes comparison similar experimental results literature, where high data variability found.
