Unmet Needs for Specialty, Dental, Mental, and Allied Health Care among Children with Special Health Care Needs: Are There Racial/Ethnic Disparities?

摘要: We examined racial/ethnic disparities in unmet specialty, dental, mental, and allied health care needs among children with special (CSHCN) using data on 38,866 the National Survey of CSHCN. Compared White CSHCN, Black CSHCN had significantly greater specialty (9.6% vs. 6.7%), dental (16% 8.7%), mental (27% 17%) needs. Hispanic (15.8% 8.7%). females than other groups (41% 13-20%). Most disappeared after multivari - ate adjustment. Significant risk factors for included uninsurance, having no personal doctor/nurse, poverty, condition stability severity. Eliminat- ing all especially minority may require efforts to reduce poverty increase insurance coverage better assessment female ensuring have a medical home.
