摘要: Cymbopogon species are widely used as herbal remedies by the traditional healers living in Nkonkobe Municipality for treatment and management of skin respiratory infections. According to our survey, plants seem be very important because higher demands. The leaves C. validis plurinodis were hydro-distilled resulted extracted oils analyzed GC/MS. Minimum inhibitory concentrations (MICs) ranging from 7.8 500.0 μg/ml tested against eight bacterial strains, using micro-well dilution method. human Chang liver cell viability was determined CellTiter-Blue assay. GC-MS analysis essential oil amounted 87.03%, major components identified Linalyl alcohol (18.9%), 2-Nephthalenemethanol (6.67%), Longifolene (6.53%), Cubedol (6.08%). Total percentage 81.47% main characterized 3-Cyclohexane-1-ol (13.58%), Nerolidol (13.6%) 2-Carene (12.6%). both found active growth Gram positive than negative tested. Lethal dose at 50 (LD50) showed 74.87 ± 1.41 81.66 ± 1.40 degree toxicity 24 h. Both extracts toxic lines.
