Assessment of knowledge, attitude and practice towards post exposure prophylaxis for HIV among health care professionals in Lahore

摘要: HIV infections in health care workers have become a major problem especially developing countries these days. Most poor resource setting HCWs dealing with large number of infected patients. This situation raises the need for post exposure prophylaxis (PEP) exposed group really important. Considering this cross sectional survey was conducted general and governmental hospitals district Lahore Pakistan to asses Knowledge, attitude practice regarding PEP HIV. Response 609 were entered on predesigned self explanatory questionnaire. Descriptive analysis data showed that almost half never heard about PEP. 68% opinion guidelines should not be listed working area or they responded no idea A good 47.2% believed non protective against either did knowledge it. Significant proportion (>50%) respondents found having adequate improper towards 35.3% placed after while rest It concluded just satisfactory, consequently formal training is recommended.
