摘要: Abstract Deep-water sediments of the Black Sea deposited during Late Pleistocene and Holocene time are distinguished by three sedimentary units: (1) a microlaminated coccolith ooze mainly consisting Emiliania huxleyi ; (2) sapropel; (3) banded lutite. The base first unit lies at 3,000 years B.P., that second 7,000 third least about 25,000 B.P. Fossils geochemical criteria used to decipher environmental events this period. Beginning with section dated we witness final stage metamorphosis from anoxic marine oxic freshwater conditions. By ended, 22,000 had become truly habitat. lake phase lasted 12,000 13,000 years. Sedimentation rates were in order 1 m/10 3 years, but began decrease as sea level rose last 5,000 (9,000–15,000 B.P.). Starting 9,000 continuing Mediterranean waters occasionally spilled over Bosporus consequence ice retreat rise. This marked beginning gradual shift marine, well aerated stagnant At when deposition 2 started, H S zone was established. dropped 10 cm/10 Environmental conditions similar those today finally became established around almost exactly Jason Argonauts sailed through search Golden Fleece.
