摘要: Abstract Introduction The available information on the cost of illness Borderline Personality Disorder (BPD) is overtly insufficient for policy planning. Our aim was to estimate costs BPD in Catalonia (Spain) 2006. Methods This a multilevel cross-design synthesis study combining qualitative nominal approach, quantitative ‘top-down’ analysis multiple health databases, and ‘bottom-up’ data local surveys. Both direct indirect have been estimated from governmental societal perspective. Results Estimated year-prevalence 0.7% (41,921 cases), but only 9.6% these cases were treated mental system (4033 cases). baseline total 45.6 million €, which 15.8 million € (34.7%) related care. distribution 0.4% primary care; 4% outpatient 4.7% hospitalisation; emergency 24.9% pharmacotherapy.
