Comparing the Effects of Vitamin B1 and Calcium on Premenstrual Syndrome (PMS) among Female Students, Ilam- Iran

摘要: Background Premenstrual syndrome (PMS) is a combination of physical, psychological and emotional symptoms that occur periodically before menstruation disappear with the onset menstruation. There are some therapeutic methods mostly according to clinical trials reduce prevalence intensity PMS by unknown mechanisms. This study aimed investigate effects Calcium vitamin B1 on among female students. Materials Methods: triple-blind trial conducted 210 students living in dormitories Ilam University Medical Sciences who had PMS. questionnaire was used symptoms. Participants were assigned 3 groups 70 people following regimen: group 1 received one pill containing 100 milligrams B1, 2 pills placebo. The participants all took medicines for months then reported their questionnaire. collected data analyzed descriptive inferential statistics, using SPSS-16. Results: In receiving placebo, physical as well general remarkable reduction (P<0.05). However, comparison between intervention control showed supplements (vitamin Calcium) Vitamin equal improvement PMS, but reduced better than B1. Conclusion: Results this both premenstrual syndrome, terms reducing more effective.
