摘要: Abstract Hantaviruses are worldwide rodent-borne pathogens infecting humans and other animals mainly through inhalation of aerosols contaminated with rodent excreta. Few data available on hantavirus serology geographical distribution in dogs cats. We therefore screened sera from pet (N = 410) cats (N = 124) two regions Belgium, using IgG ELISA IFA. analysed the effect owner’s address as well gender age status. Hantavirus antibodies were found both species a significantly higher seroprevalence than (16.9% vs. 4.9%, P = 0.001). More infected highly forested southern Belgium (harbouring more rodents) northern (10.5% 3.0%, P = 0.002). In south, sero-positive densely localities sero-negatives ones (P = 0.033). These results consistent ecological variations risks humans.
