摘要: Microbicides are topically applied, user controlled dosage forms that being developed to prevent the transmission of HIV during coitus. Early candidates focused on coitally dependent such as gels and creams. More recent development has broadening options through introduction films fast dissolving tablets. Additionally, it become important have longer acting products minimize burden compliance thus vaginal rings been providing sustained delivery antiretroviral drugs. This chapter discusses history microbicides along with a detailed description products, gels, films, tablets diaphragms, well independent new technology, electrospun fibers.
