摘要: The organization of interconnections between the mediodorsal nucleus thalamus (MD) and orbital medial prefrontal cortex agranular insular in monkey was studied by retrograde anterograde tracing techniques. In addition to magnocellular parvicellular divisions MD, three other subdivisions can be recognized on basis myeloarchitecture, cytoarchitecture, connections. first two these represent a parcellation division into lateral, fiber-rich MD pars fibrosa medial, poorly myelinated paramediana adjacent midline. third is small, area located at caudomedial dorsal edges MD; it referred as caudodorsalis. MD reciprocally interconnected primarily with areas 11, 12 13 central lateral part cortex. There general within this projection, rostrocaudal axis represented from ventral fibrosa, mediolateral cortical lateral. Cells that project also extend laterally parvicellularis. more heavily caudal portions region, particularly parts 14. areas, 13a Iad, do not fit organization, they are dorsomedial paramediana, where overlap cells receive inputs forebrain such amygdala, piriform (olfactory) cortex, entorhinal which directly well pallidum. MD caudodorsalis 14, 24, 32 surface dorsoventral rostral thalamus. amygdala structures send fibers caudodorsalis, even though some cortex. Ventral separated internal medullary lamina, small region appears comparable anteroventral submedial previously defined rat cat. This receives input 13a. © 1993 Wiley-Liss, Inc.
