摘要: Abstract There is an increased interest in measuring naturally occurring radioactive materials (NORM) like coal, fly ash considering health hazards caused by radionuclides. This paper presents activity concentration (AC) of 226 Ra, 228 232 Th, 238 U and 40 K feed bottom samples from Philippines coal-fired thermal power plants using inductively coupled plasma mass spectrometry (ICP-MS) high-purity germanium gamma spectroscopy (HPGe γ-spectroscopy). Coal, were digested a microwave oven with mixture HNO 3 , HClO 4 HF. Uranium ( U) thorium Th) ACs also analyzed ICP-MS. A good correlation was found for the measurement Th both techniques R 2 = 0.97 0.94 respectively). ICP-MS measurements showed highest AC lowest coal samples. With HPGe γ-spectroscopy measurements, (in Bq kg − 1 ) K, noticed followed coal. method rapid uranium comparison to as secular equilibrium not required. Activity concentrations be within reported values worldwide below International Atomic Energy Agency recommended regulatory control.
