摘要: Radiation doses from airborne effluents of model coal-fired and nuclear power plants (1000 megawatts electric) are compared. Assuming a 1 percent ash release to the atmosphere (Environmental Protection Agency regulation) part per million uranium 2 parts thorium in coal (approximately U.S. average), population plant typically higher than those pressurized-water or boiling-water reactors that meet government regulations. Higher radionuclide contents releases common would result increased plant. The study does not assess impact non-radiological pollutants total radiological impacts versus economy.
