Treatment of infantile spasms with methysergide and α-methylparatyrosine

摘要: Summary: Twenty-four newly diagnosed and previously untreated infantile spasm patients were treated for 3 weeks with either methysergide (12 patients) or a-methylparatyrosine patients). Response to therapy was determined objectively 24-h polygraphic/video monitoring techniques defined as cessation of spasms disappearance the hypsarrhythmic EEG pattern. Two (17%) responded therapy, one (8%) methysergide-treated group showed a response. Der Therapie-erfolg wurde objektiviert durch: 24-h-Polygraphie Videoaufnahmen. Als Anfallsfreiheit definiert das Versch-winden von Krampfen Hypsarrhythmie im 2 behandelte Patienten 1 sprachen auf die Therapie an. Die Signifikanz Ergebnis wird diskutiert.
