摘要: Infantile spasms is a severe epileptic encephalopathy of infancy. The fundamental cause unknown, although number predisposing conditions are recognized. In this article, the authors critically review current knowledge concerning pathophysiologic basis infantile and propose new model based on developmental desynchronization. It suggested that may result from particular temporal desynchronization two or more central nervous system processes, resulting in specific disturbance brain function. function postulated to be crucially dependent an unbalanced maturational pattern, which certain systems become dysfunctional owing divergent status. An important aspect idea disturbed kind can multiple causative factors, so associated with variety different anatomic and/or biochemical abnormalities. Thus, concept compatible observed diversity pathologic findings multiplicity etiological associations patients.
