摘要: Organometallic moieties make excellent candidates for lead structures in drug design, due to their bioactivity, redox chemistry and structural diversity. Despite this, only a limited number of organometallic compounds have been recruited combatting neglected tropical diseases, 17 which are officially recognised by the World Health Organisation. New pharmaceuticals needed overcome prominent side effects existing treatments these as well avoid emerging resistance genes causative parasites. This review focuses on use treating African sleeping sickness (Human trypanosomiasis), Chagas disease (American leishmaniasis, schistosomiasis echinococcosis. Studies from past 5–10 years generated promising compounds, most arising modification an all demonstrating advantageous properties unique chemistry. Most introduced here remain identification stage require further vivo physiochemical studies.
