摘要: There is now considerable evidence that neurotypical individuals track the internal cognitions of others, even in absence instructions to do so. This finding has prompted suggestion humans possess an implicit mental state tracking system (implicit Theory Mind, ToM) exists alongside a allows deliberate and explicit analysis states others (explicit ToM). Here we evaluate for this hypothesis assess extent which ToM operations are distinct. We review showing adults can indeed engage processing without being conscious doing However, at same time, there share some functional features, including drawing on executive resources. Based available evidence, propose overlap should only be considered partially
