摘要: Background Treatment at a high-volume facility has been associated with better outcomes in variety of conditions. The relationship between volume and survival from laryngeal cancer not examined previously. Methods A total 11,446 early-stage patients (1996–1998) who reported to the National Cancer Database (NCDB) were analyzed. Proportional hazards regression was used assess treatment controlling for other factors survival. Results Treatment low-volume facilities significantly increased likelihood death (hazard ratio 1.20, 95% CI 1.04–1.38). Surgical resection, as compared radiation treatment, lower mortality (HR 0.74, 0.69–0.80). Conclusion This study is first cancer. Treatment survival. rather than also survival, although we could control confounders that may bias selection. © 2009 Wiley Periodicals, Inc. Head Neck,
