Estrus Diagnosis in Ewes by Using a Plasma/ Serum Progesterone Enzyme Immunoassay (EIA) Kit

摘要: A quantitative Enzyme Immunoassay (EIA) Kit (Ovucheck Plasma/Serum Proges-terone EIA Kit, Cambridge Life Science LTD., U. K.) for bovine progesterone (P) was applied to detect estrus in ewes. Serum P concentrations were measured during the cycle of nine Dilution-assay and recovery test serum conducted. Measurement concen-trations standard ewe's samples showed parallelism, nearly 100% a known quantity gained test. Intra-assay coefficients variation (CVs) from 4.7 16.4%, interassay CVs 4.4 20.3%. Estrus confirmed with mounting behavior by ram. 92% ewes less than 1ng/ml, while 88% non-estrus more 1 ng/ml. In conclusion, this kit practical measurement useful diagnosis
