Analysis of Sexual Behavior in Rams (Ovis aries)

摘要: In this study, a matured ram was paired with an estrus ewe and sexual behavior investigated. All the recorded by time-lapse video tape recorder from start of pairing. The series unit movements comprising behavior, mounting (MS), extracted record analyzed quantitatively (n=774). MS starts ram's approaching or following ends ram’s on ewe. consisted eight movements, (F/A), chin resting (CR), flehmen (Fl), (Mo), nosing (No), nudging (Nu), pushing (Pu) twisting (Tw). Analysis frequency any combinations two preceding succeeding ones, observed in conducted cell-by-cell test using transitional matrix to make flow-diagram behavior. As result, pattern F/A-Tw-Nu-CR-Mo, formed main route MS, whereas repertoire sequential increased diverging. Though Fl No didn’t lead directly, these associated olfactory perception also belonged may have independent function other six that constitute MS.
