摘要: In spite of the new methods treatment and care introduced during past fifteen years, schizophrenic patients are still liable to relapse with a recurrence florid symptoms such as delusions, hallucinations disturbed behaviour, great suffering can be caused all concerned (Brown et al., 1966). It has been shown that onset is often preceded previous three weeks by significant change in patient's social environment Birley, 1968; Birley Brown, 1970). Other studies have focused on influence more persistent environmental factors, emotion expressed towards relatives whom they were living. an exploratory survey discharged long-stay men it was found close emotional ties parents or wives indicated poor prognosis (Brown, Carstairs Topping, 1958; 1959). further study, seen hospital just before discharge, their interviewed at home same time, both together joint interview shortly after discharge. those who returned live highly emotionally involved them (as judged ratings relatives' behaviour) likely suffer symptoms, even when severity psychiatric disturbance time discharge taken into account 1962).
