摘要: Corporate governance has been a key focus over recent times for Australian companies, particularly following the collapse of some large organisations which resulted in losses billions dollars along with jobs, investments and livelihoods many Australians. This thesis investigates impact ASX Principles Good Governance were introduced 2003 to strengthen corporate Australia response community concerns causes those collapses. study examines characteristics directors listed companies on 50 index, relation non-executive directors, number, gender, qualifications average age directors. applies positivist social science approach analyse examine A representative sample represents largest stocks covers all major industry sectors, was selected, research data extracted from this sample.
