摘要: Objective: To review the current trends in pancreatic cancer research and propose alternatives for an earlier diagnosis. Method: A search was conducted using PubMed Scielo electronic databases to find statistics related incidence of cancer. Results: Pancreatic is fourth most common cause mortality USA; Colombia this neoplasia 4.5 per 100,000 individuals; Peru, amongst digestive diseases, it fifth cause. In Brazil Chile has increased incidence, while Mexico, decreased terms relative percentage gastrointestinal cancers from 1976 2003.
