摘要: Pertussis, or whooping cough, is a highly contagious, acute respiratory disease of humans that caused by the Gram-negative bacterial pathogen Bordetella pertussis. In face extensive global vaccination, this extremely monomorphic has persisted and re-emerged, causing approximately 300,000 deaths each year. review, we discuss interaction B. pertussis with host mucosal epithelium immune system. Using large number virulence factors, able to create niche for colonization in human tract. The successful persistence mainly due its ability interfere almost every aspect system, from inhibition complement- phagocyte-mediated killing suppression T- B-cell responses. Based on these insights, delineate ideas rational design improved vaccines can target 'weak spots' pathogenesis pathogen.
