摘要: Purpose Drawing insights from the culture-centered approach (Dutta-Bergman, 2004; Dutta, 2007), purpose of this paper is to explore meanings of, experiences with, and information sources for antibiotics among at-risk yet understudied populations in urban economic margins Global South. Design/methodology/approach Given exploratory paper, it used qualitative specifically focus group discussions with mothers, guardians female senior citizens Manila, Philippines. Findings Antibiotics had multiple – purposes modes acquisition side-effects. Experiences were not only tied financial difficulties, but also administering children or wards managing Furthermore, medical doctors most accessed preferred antibiotics-related information. Originality/value To date, one few argue that knowing conditions into which are situated South critical strengthening global public health campaigns policies against antimicrobial resistance a reducing inequity.
