摘要: Vegetation inherited from a Pliocene subtropical climate evolved through obliquity oscillations and global cooling leading to modern conditions. An integrated, highly time-resolved record of pollen stable isotopes (δ18O δ13C Globigerina bulloides) was obtained understand vegetation responses Early Pleistocene changes. Continental marine are compared in the Central Mediterranean region with particular consideration environmental changes during anoxic events. Pollen data illustrate dynamics as follows: [1] development mesothermic elements (warm humid conditions); [2] expansion mid- high-altitude (cooler but still [3] strengthening steppe herb dry conditions). These successions correlate precession. δ18O variations recorded by bulloides define two cycles (MIS 43-40) related obliquity. At northern low- mid-latitudes, signal records temperature wetness precession even induced This may result unexpected increasing glacial periods, which has be considered specific Eastern region. Lastly, an analysis events reveals that enhanced runoff is indicated frequency riparian trees Liquidambar Zelkova.
