摘要: Background: There is increasing emphasis on renewable energy following recurrent economic crises and environmental concerns associated with the use of fossil fuels such as petrodiesel. Research into biodiesel production from oil-bearing biomass sources can provide a more sustainable alternative to This study evaluated yielding potential Thevetia peruviana seeds. Methods: Oil was extracted seeds using Soxhlet Cold-solvent extraction methods. Hexane-only (H-only) used in while Hexane/Ether (H/E) mixture H-only were respectively Cold extraction. The oil processed Methanol/Ethanol (M/E) Methanol-only (M-only) via transesterification sodium hydroxide catalyst. physicochemical parameters density, viscosity at 40oC, Saponification value, Flash Point (FP) Acid Value (AV) determined American Standard for Testing Material (ASTM D6751) Results: yields Soxhlet, H/E extractions were: 62.3%, 51.9% 45.8% respectively. yield M/E M-only transesterifications 78.4% 85.20% density viscosity, saponification value 0.868g/cm3, 21.50mm2/s 120mgKOH/g FP AV 0.760g/cm3, 4.70mm2/s, 130oC 0.441mgKOH/g Conclusion: are viable production, quality met Materials limits. However, further work explore optimization process sustainability model recommended.
