摘要: The expectation-maximization (EM) algorithm for maximum likelihood estimation can be applied to image reconstruction in positron emission tomography (PET) and time-of-flight assisted PET (TOFPET). To implement this algorithm, one employ either the projection data acquired at various angles or rotationally integrated image. In case of TOFPET, latter approach reduce required computation time substantially. Three approaches -- conventional, direct statistical methods that incorporate effect photon attenuation EM have been investigated. Preliminary results from computer simulation studies indicate method provide a good compromise between quality time. acceleration geometric, additive multiplicative increase rate convergence these studied also.
