摘要: Tree volume and biomass equations developed for Kitulangalo area in Morogoro, Tanzania ignored small branches trees. Consequently, this study was carried out to develop new individual tree equations, assess current regeneration status, biodiversity yield of miombo woodlands the area. Volume based on stump diameter estimation felled trees were also developed. A total 30 measured (StD), at breast height (dbh) determination biomass. Different stem, branch models then fitted. For yield, data collected from three strata: (a) Forest Reserve managed by Central Government, (b) under Sokoine University Agriculture (SUA) (c) General land (free access public). In each stratum, temporary concentric circular sample plots laid transects 150 m intervals a 1% sampling intensity. Stand variables such as number stems per ha, basal area, biomass, plant diversity, computed stratum. The has revealed presence average volumes (m3ha-1) areas (m2ha-1) of: 76.02 + 9.14 9.13 0.78 Government forest reserve, 76.03 9.34 8.95 0.73 SUA 43.9 7.75 7.78 1.1 general forest. respective values 43.56 7.06, 41.40 4.90 29.31 6.56 t ha-1. species composition status that though disturbed, public is not different other two strata. More studies should be done nursing abundant disturbed land. are recommended used especially where ( Keywords: Miombo woodlands, yields, Regeneration Southern African Forestry Journal No.200 2004: 59-70
