摘要: Abstract Gypsum filled “pipe” features were discovered in the proglacial area of Borup Fiord Pass supraglacial sulfur spring. Stable isotope data suggest that gypsum is formed through oxidation sulfides and are consistent with models sulfuric acid speleogenesis. These results pipes paleo-spring discharge channels analogous to those feed modern spring at Fiord. A conceptual model proposed whereby retreat glacial front associated growth permafrost ground exposed now low arctic temperatures leads “freezing-in” system abandonment old favor more open flow systems subglacial region. Results provide a for glacially driven groundwater may form association Mars' polar icecaps potential geological signatures paleo-groundwater discharge. Key Words: Analogue—Biosignatures.
