摘要: Abstract Biohydrogen is considered as an important key to a sustainable world power supply and currently being seen the versatile fuel of future, with potential replace fossil fuels. The most efficient biohydrogen producers are hydrogenases. Nevertheless, due complex maturation processes these enzymes, their heterologous production leaves some intriguing points not elucidated up now. limit our understanding in this field makes barrier for hydrogenases application variety biotechnological processes. This review focuses on recent progresses development systems cell-free biosynthesis active [Fe–Fe] [Ni–Fe] It also highlights now un-discussed questions probable existence unknown machinery able maturate or contribution maturases formation H-cluster
