摘要: The general physician is the most appropriate person to evaluate and treat patients presenting with complaint of insomnia. However, there has recently been an overemphasis on need for be evaluated in sleep disorders clinics, particularly their laboratories. These laboratory evaluations are expensive time consuming, often con­ tribute only minimally overall management insomniac patient. In fact, they may even detract from comprehensive psychiatric, neuro­ logical, pharmacological, medical approac:h that necessary effective primary goal disor­ ders clinics staff should supplement enhance physician's ability disorders, partic­ ularly insomnia, common disorder (1). This review de­ signed strengthen more rationally effectively condition insomnia his office practice. Thus, clinical findings presented, causative factors in­ somnia defined, assessment guidelines delineated, treatment methods reviewed.
