摘要: BACKGROUND The objective of this study was to determine the allowable platelet content limits for apheresis platelets stored 7 days in a storage bag (COBE ELP, Gambro BCT). METHODS Apheresis under controlled concentration and volume per were plasma up 8 at 22 degrees C with horizontal agitation. Routinely evaluated vitro parameters followed. Oxygen consumption directly measured Clark-type electrode. All components cultured aerobic medium on Day 7. RESULTS Twenty-four configurations (median [range], 340 [110-402] mL, 1.32 [0.99-2.45] x 10(6) platelets/microL, 4.8 [1.4-5.9] 10(11) platelets/bag). No bacterial contamination detected. One component had pH value below 6.0 before 5 attendant loss all other function measures. maintained above 6.2 remaining 23 components. A greater than 7.4 observed some point 13 units, although or activation not adversely affected. Aerobic metabolic over O2 321 micromol hour 10(12) CONCLUSION Although continuing decline characteristics can be beyond days, 100 400 mL bag, 1.0 2.5 microL, maximum 5.1 storage.
