摘要: Background: Antithyroid drugs (ATDs) may have teratogenic effects when used in early pregnancy. Objective: To review the association between time period of ATD exposure pregnancy and development birth defects. Methods: We identified publications on defects after to ATDs methimazole (MMI; its prodrug carbimazole (CMZ)) propylthiouracil (PTU). Cases treatment had been initiated or terminated within first 10 weeks were studied detail. Results: A total 92 read Two recent large controlled studies showed ATD-associated 2‐3% exposed children, MMI/CMZ-associated often severe. Out number publications, 17 included cases with stop/start treatment, these suggested that high risk was confined gestational 6‐10, which is major organogenesis. Thus, reported suggest could be minimized if pregnant women terminate intake before week 6. Conclusion: Both MMI PTU use lead children. MMI-associated are Proposals given how minimize fertile treated for hyperthyroidism ATDs.
