Do pregnant women want to know the sex of the expected child at routine ultrasound and are they interested in sex selection

摘要: BACKGROUND The aim of the study was to investigate if expecting parents wanted know sex fetus during ultrasound examination and they had discussed it with midwife. Another explore any interest in selection. METHODS A longitudinal survey early late pregnancy among 2393 women Sweden. RESULTS Almost all (95.8%, n = 2289) determination partner before scan, 57% (n = 1356) their partners find out fetal sex. mostly initiated a discussion midwife (46%, n = 1088), but 10% (n = 229) stated that midwives discussion. Few (5%, n = 118) expressed potential selecting baby. Women who were interested did not differ from those not, respect age, origin, education, parity, level planning, or importance religion, chosen another diagnostic method more CONCLUSIONS Half sex, 5% This high is challenge, since present national guidelines do include as an option.
