摘要: Restorative proctocolectomy with ileal pouch anal anastomosis is the preferred surgical technique in patients ulcerative colitis and majority of those familial adenomatous polyposis. The most common complications after include pelvic sepsis, pouchitis, bowel obstruction, all which may lead to failure. Cumulative failure rates range from 2 % at 1 year 9 10 years. However, a “failed” can be salvaged by reoperative surgery, including transanal, abdominal, or combined approach. These salvage procedures are associated acceptable outcomes, their indications management decisions discussed.
