摘要: Publisher Summary RK is an important enzyme of photo transduction, and its role in human physiology exquisitely characterized. In the study described chapter, many techniques were developed to isolate enzyme, assay it, characterize specific interactions with photolyzed Rho (Rho*). Several posttranslational modifications With these basic hand, mechanistical, kinetic, structural questions can be asked. For signaling state photoreceptors return dark condition, Rho* activated G proteins are turned off cGMP resynthesized. Phosphorylation binding capping protein arrestin (Arr) result termination physiological responses. While must prevent continued activation entire population protein, phosphorylation subsequent Arr quenching timed properly so that a given number molecules become by Rho*. All reactions occur within hundreds milliseconds collectively termed “phototransduction.”
