摘要: Abstract The products of ribonuclease M2 action on tobacco mosaic virus ribonucleic acid in the absence and presence added Zn++ were fractionated by chromatography diethylaminoethyl cellulose shown to consist mixtures mononucleotides, dinucleotides, higher oligonucleotides, minor amounts nucleosides. In Zn++, degradation RNA was relatively incomplete, with 27% total absorbance appearing mononucleotide fraction a majority as di- oligonucleotides. With 60% appeared fraction, 25% 11% components both without identified 5'-mononucleotides. Without about 60 mole % recovered adenosine 5'-monophosphate 20 each uridine guanosine 5'-monophosphate, no definite recovery cytidine (roughly two-thirds residues one-sixth RNA). all 5'-AMP (and adenosine); one-half guanosine, respectively, 5'-UMP 5'-GMP; one-fifth cytidine, CMP. significance these results relation specificity RNase action, possible metalloprotein nature M2, structure is discussed.
