摘要: Growing population and increased demand for water is causing an increase in dam reservoir construction developing nations. When rivers cross international boundaries, the downstream stakeholders often have little knowledge of upstream operation practices. Satellite remote sensing form radar altimetry multisensor precipitation products can be used as a practical way to provide with fundamentally elusive information on outflow needed make important proactive management decisions. This study uses mass balance approach three hydrologic controls estimate from satellite data at monthly annual time scales: precipitation-induced inflow, evaporation, storage change. Furthermore, this explores importance each these accuracy estimation. The found unimportant could potentially neglected similar future studies. Two reservoirs were examined contrasting regions world, Hungry Horse Reservoir mountainous region northwest U.S. Kaptai low-lying, forested Bangladesh. It was that method estimated both reasonable skill. estimation however less accurate. basin exhibited shift behavior resulting variable across 9 year period. Monthly compounded by snow accumulation melt processes, reflected relatively low summer fall, when processes control runoff. it scale differs between two reservoirs, inflow being most change Reservoir.
