摘要: The purpose of this contribution is to cover some the ground-work in a subject which will be discussed greater detail by other authors volume. In particular, aim give broad outline use optical techniques for studying point defects non-metallic solids, emphasizing those aspects relate methods determining information about defect structure and properties electronic states defects. A brief introduction also given theory often used freely people active field, but may less familiar many interested physical chemical solid state. This includes vibronic spectra (including Jahn-Teller effect), group studies an account extracting structural from perturbation experiments.
