摘要: E. risticii, the cause of classic Potomac horse fever, is now known to produce two disease syndromes: EEC and EEA. The pathogen appears commonly infect horses based on seroepidemiologic studies; however, method transmission remains unknown. most common clinical EEC, called which presents a wide spectrum signs. Diagnosis currently dependent serology, frequently does not lead definitive diagnosis at best results in retrospective diagnosis. A new diagnostic approach, polymerase chain reaction, may offer rapid accurate test but yet be proven. Antimicrobials found highly effective treating include intravenous oxytetracycline oral combination erythromycin rifampin. Without an understanding mode transmission, prevention will remain impossible. Although commercial bacterins are available, vaccination result complete protection. EEA recently recognized syndrome caused by risticii. After recovery from pregnant mares abort. Based histologic examination, aborted fetus victim ehrlichial colitis as well placentitis. effect antimicrobials occurrence has investigated.
