摘要: Two different sets of time scales arising in stiff systems reaction-diffusion PDEs are examined; the first due to reaction term alone and second interaction diffusion terms. The fastest each set responsible for development a low dimensional manifold, characteristics which depend on considered. advantages disadvantages employing these two manifolds simplification large discussed. It is shown that approaches provide non-stiff simplified system similar accuracy. approach based allows simpler construction system, while reaction/diffusion marching scheme.
