摘要: The complex dominant Arabidopsis thaliana mutant lettuce (let) shows the conversion of leaf petiole into a blade caused by an ectopic formation. This is result activation tagging LEAFY PETIOLE (LEP) gene encoding AP2/EREBP-like transcription factor. Here, we report that in addition to this leafy phenotype, size vascular bundles increased all aerial organs let as increase number xylem, phloem (pro)cambial and pericycle cells. phenotype two genes VASCULAR TISSUE SIZE (VAS) LEP. These are closely linked arranged tandem. Activation LEP only specific xylem cell number, together with formation, indicates functions division-promoting VAS resulted We conclude results additive phenotypes. Insertional mutants for display wild-type development, indicating relevance functional analysis novel involved plant development.
