摘要: Abstract Increased hepatic gamma-glutamyltransferase (GGT) activity following chronic ethanol consumption has been attributed to enzyme induction, dietary carbohydrate imbalance, and/or cell damage. In this study, GGT was increased in rats consuming (35% of kcals) a high fat diet compared pair fed and ad lib. controls (P ⩽ 0.01), but no enhancement observed those on low (11% diets. The high-fat-ethanol group also had lipid 0.01) decreased glutathione levels 0.05) their control group. that removed from for the final 4 weeks 12-week treatment period, GGT, or were not different values. Histochemical evaluation showed increases associated with centrolobular accumulation ethanol-fed diet. cause increase could be determined experiment. However, microsomal did appear related activity. It is suggested cellular damage accumulation, depletion glutathione, changes biliary flow may
