Can Migration Health Assessments Become a Mechanism for Global Public Health Good

摘要: Migrant health assessments (HAs) consist of a medical examination to assess migrant’s status and provide clearance for work or residency based on conditions defined by the destination country and/or employer. We argue that better linkages between systems migrant HA processors at level are needed shift these from being limited as an instrument determining non-admissibility purposes visa issuance, process may enhance public health. The importance providing appropriate care follow-up migrants who “fail” their need global efforts enable data-collection research HAs also highlighted.
