Social policy or energy policy? Time to reconsider energy poverty policies

摘要: Abstract In this short communication piece, we draw attention to the discussion on policies for reducing energy poverty in European Union member states. We urgently need a policy approach able support transition from current rising levels of sustainable community with greener and healthier future. Analysing prices, framework household income, conduct preliminary investigation macro-level perspective associated interventions EU. Obtained non-classical fuzzy-set qualitative comparative analysis, our results clearly show that is product substantial interdependence may be summarised two paths: (PP1) low or median income energy-policy focus, (PP2) high prices focus. Surprisingly, findings indicate an focus found EU states highest poverty. One step further, also offer insight into absence poverty, where social seems play key role. Taken together, argue facing above-average are captured energy-poverty trap, whereby existing does not yield desired often too costly implement due problem's magnitude. Our main concern prioritising any slow down society. We, therefore, call scientists only further examine phenomenon but participate creating effective policies.
