摘要: This study examined the impact of intensive case management (ICM) on decreasing child welfare system involvement in a sample substance-dependent parenting women who participated demonstration comparing ICM to usual screen-and-refer models employed settings. Previous research established effectiveness both increasing engagement substance abuse treatment and promoting abstinence, current tested whether had downstream impacts outcomes not directly targeted by intervention. The included 302 mothers recruited from offices their 888 minor children. Child were available administrative records for four years following entry incident reports out-of-home placements. An initial positive effect was found placements, but its lessened over time likely due increased contact with managers that occurred early study. Overall, minimal benefits found, suggesting while effective areas there no outcomes. Implications findings terms need cross-system collaboration are discussed.
