摘要: Infections in burn patients continue to be the primary source of morbidity and mortality. Topical antimicrobial therapy remains single most important component wound care hospitalised patients. The goal prophylactic topical is control microbial colonisation prevent infection. In selected clinical circumstances agents may used treat incipient or early infections. At present time silver sulfadiazine frequently agent; it relatively inexpensive, easy apply, well tolerated by patients, has good activity against pathogens. with large burns addition cerium nitrate improve bacterial control. Mafenide acetate superior eschar-penetrating characteristics, making agent choice for treatment sepsis. However, duration area mafenide application must limited because systemic toxicity associated prolonged extensive use. Other agents, such as nitrofurazone chlorhexidine preparations, useful isolated situations. undesirable side effects solution limit its use clinicians at time.
