摘要: Abstract Objectives To study the efficacy of manual therapy in treatment tension-type headache (TTH) by assessing quality randomised control trials (RCTs) published from year 2000 to April 2013. Methods A search was performed following databases: MEDLINE, EBSCO, CINAHL, SCOPUS, PEDRO and OVID. An analysis made RCT including patients with TTH receiving any therapy, outcome measures intensity, frequency or duration headache. Two independent referees reviewed methodological RCTs using Jadad scale. Data studies were extracted two different reviewers. Results total fourteen selected. Twelve showed acceptable (Jadad scale ≥3), remaining 2 had low (Jadad = 2). The positive results, reduction intensity and/or frequency, medication consumption, improvement life. Conclusions effectiveness for cannot be completely assessed due heterogeneity design, measures, treatments. Nevertheless, results suggest therapies better progress than those conventional placebo. Further high protocols, also standardised are now needed clarify management TTH.
