摘要: Nigeria, a country with about 150 million people, is multicultural society along geographical, religious, ethnic, and political ideological identities. These diversities have played out to create an unfortunate situation of hatred, distrust, cut-throat rivalry, animosity, intolerance, violent conflicts among the diverse groups. challenges are gradually destroying cherished values peace unity upon which corporate existence Nigeria rests. Thus, heading towards state fragility disintegration. This calls for serious efforts at addressing posed by in Nigeria. The mass media important social institution these efforts, if properly utilized. paper, prescriptive discourse, examines ideal roles facilitating harmonious relationship cultural discourse focuses on exigencies journalism; community broadcasting; training re-training workers peace/conflict, multicultural, ethical, moral issues; institutionalization democratic participatory system communication.
